Club Tropik is a new weekly Wednesday party at the very stylish bar/club/restaurant
Stanza in Soho starting
Wednesday 16th July promoted by tropikalmusic.co.uk events. From 8pm to 10pm we will have Kizomba dance classes with Iris De Brito & Miguel Monteiro. At 10pm the party will start, with our DJs playing all tropical music styles until 3am.

Seating reservations
Departure has 3 well situated reservable seating areas (booths) with room for up to 10 people in each. If you would like to reserve one of these areas click on one of the seating reservation links on the left. Booth reservations must be paid in advance by midday on the Friday before the club.
Directions to Departure
By Tube (Underground/Metro) you can go to Aldgate or Tower Hill stations. From Aldgate station you cross the road (Aldgate High Street), turn right and then take the second road on the left (Jewry Street). After 50 metres you will see Departure on the left just as the street becomes Crutched Friars. From Tower Hill station you turn right on to Coopers Row. After going under the railway bridge the street curves to the right and becomes Crutched Friars (do not take the sharp right turn). Departure is on the right a few metres up. Parking
There is plenty of free parking near Departure on Saturday night on parking meters or on single yellow lines.

DJ Loco is the top Urban Latin DJ in London. He was a resident DJ at Tequila Sunrise & Barrio Fino & is now a resident at La Bomba & Fuego. He has played at Barrio Latino, Latin Jam, Arizona, Havana, Bar Rumba, The Coliseum, The Fridge, Cargo, Club Supreme, Canvas, Ministry of Sound, Play Bar, Suga Suga, Recola & The Marquee, as well as to 1,000 + people at the Carnaval del Pueblo. DJ Loco is first choice to support visiting Reggaeton stars - he supported DJ Nelson at his massive La Linea show at SE One & Tony Touch at the Hammersmith Palais on Sunday 27th August 2006. After guesting on Andy "El Niño" Cueto's show on Rumba FM he was given his own show which lasted for over a year & was followed by a show on 95.1 Latino FM. He is now back on the radio with a show on 95.5 Latino FM between 6pm & 8pm on Sundays. Loco has been making his own music for some time & was one half (with MC. Magico) of La Raza, London's first Reggaeton group & one of the most exciting new acts which emerged from London's Urban Latin music scene. Since the demise of La Raza DJ Loco has continued to produce for several other latin acts as well as making his own music & 2 of his tracks have appeared on the Reggaeton compilation "Reggaeton Sessions" on Union Square Music www.unionsquaremusic.co.uk. Born in London of Colombian parents, Loco represents the new generation of Latino DJ's just as happy playing R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall/Bashment & Soca as Salsa, Merengue & Reggaeton. One of the most technically proficient DJ's in London, Loco plays an eclectic & hugely varied Urban, Latin & Tropical selection.
DJ Lio is a Paris-based DJ who was born in Douala, Cameroon and moved to Paris in 1980. He has been DJing regularly in London for 7 years and has been a resident DJ at Sai-Sai in Edmonton & Ntyce in Woolwich. Lio now travels to London specially to play for us at Rumba Caribe where his wide range of music is greatly appreciated by the crowd. He plays Zouk, Kizomba, Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Salsa, Reggaeton, RnB, Hip Hop, 80's Soul & Funk and of course African music - N'Dombolo, Soukous, Coupe Decale, Makossa, Kwaito and whatever else catches his attention from across the continent.
DJ Pat, born in Congo but with parents from Benin & Togo, started his DJ career at one of Paris' most famous nightclubs "Le Titan" & after moving to London in 2000 played for 3 years at club "Sai-Sai" in Edmonton. He has since DJed at several of the Kreyol Vybz Zouk Parties, at Club Champagne in Liverpool Street & on many other occasions in London & Paris. DJ Pat plays a wide variety of Tropical & Urban music styles including Salsa, N'Dombolo, Funky House, Bashment, Dancehall, Coupe Decale, RnB, Hip Hop, Soca, Zouk & Kizomba - always putting the focus on technique and musicality.
DJ Rafa_L was born in Paris to French Caribbean parents & moved to London one year ago. He has DJd in many clubs in Paris including Folies Pigalle, Manray, Tanjia, Madeleine Plaza, Qin, Metropolis, La Distillerie, Back Up, 287, la Scene (Bastille), Otis Club & Le Soleil. Since his arrival in London he has worked regularly for the promoters "Kreyol Vybz" & is one of the regular DJ's at the "Zouk Boat Party", one of the most popular club nights for the French Caribbean community in London. He plays Zouk, Dancehall, Soca, Kompa, Bouyon, Reggae, Ambience, Coupe Decale, N'Dombolo, R&B, Hip Hop & all styles popular in the French Caribbean & French speaking Africa.
DJ Silvao is originally from Para in the north Amazon region of Brazil and moved to the U.K. in 2001. He started playing at Homarus bar in Leeds in 2003. Since then he has played at several Salsa congresses, the Havana Club (Edinburgh) & The Copa Cabana, Moso Moso Latino & Che Bar (Manchester). He is now a resident DJ at Viva Cuba (Leeds) & at the most popular Brazilian night in the North at the Faversham (Leeds). DJ Silvao plays all styles of Brazilian music - Samba, Batucada, Forro, Axé, Pagode, Zouk, Funk Carioca (Baile Funk) & Samba / Batucada House in addition to RnB, Hip Hop, Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata & all styles of Latin Music. In addition to his DJ skills, Silvao started playing Brazilian drums at a young age & went on the teach Samba/Batucada drumming in college in Brazil. He entered several competitions with his band in Santarem, was champion 4 times & currently teaches Samba drumming to the Leeds University Brazilian society. DJ Silvao will be guesting at Rumba Caribe on 15th December.
DJ Javier came to the UK 5 years ago from Havana, Cuba, where he had worked at the Castillito Cultural Centre. He has been DJing in the UK since his arrival & was a finalist in the Bacardi DJ Competition at Havana, Hanover Square in 2003. Javier is much in demand as a Salsa DJ & has played at several prestigious one off & yearly events including the Latin Splash Festival, Clapham 2003/4 : The Salsa UK International Congress 2004, Bognor Regis : The Carnaval del Pueblo, Burgess Park, London 2004/5 : Mambocity’s 5 star Salsa Congress at the Radisson Hotel, Heathrow 2004/5 : Club Cubana Salsa Weekenders at Pontins 2004/5 & The Carnival de Cuba, South Bank 2005 & Clapham Common 2006. He has also played as guest DJ at the Buffalo Bar, Highbury & Islington : The Conga Club, Infernos, Clapham : The Loughborough Hotel, Brixton : Afro Cuban Pati & Pacha in Egypt. Currently Javier is playing weekly at A Bailar Casino at the Dome, Tufnell Park & Bar Cuba, High St Kensington. Javier often plays pure Salsa & Timba gigs but when playing at Rumba Caribe he adds Merengue, Reggaeton, Latin Hip Hop & other tropical styles to the mix.
DJ Lloyd 'Ninjaman' was born in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe to Dominican parents & came to London in 1972. One of London's most respected Caribbean DJ's, Lloyd plays a wide range of Caribbean & Tropical music including Zouk, Dancehall, Soca, Bouyon, Soukous, Compas, Cadence, Coupe Decale, Merengue & Reggaeton. In 1991 he set up Club Zouk, London's longest running club playing Zouk & other Caribbean music styles & in 1993 Lloyd was also responsible for the launch of the Club Zouk Carnival Band & the Club Zouk record shop. Lloyd has produced & compiled several vinyl & CD compilations. As a promoter he was responsible for the introduction of many bands from Paris, Africa & the Caribbean to UK audiences. Lloyd is also manager & choreographer for the Chakatcha Dance Company & presents a radio show on Havit 99.1 FM on Friday from 10am to 1pm. Lloyd is taking a break from DJing at the moment but we are hoping to have him back soon!
